Our Medium: Sculpted Canvas and Acrylic

Stallman’s Canvas on Edge utilizes the cut edge of the canvas to create an elevated line drawing, and when seen at an angle, new fields of color and form emerge as your perspective to the piece changes. By using reflected light, the pigment and structure multiply the hues and tones within each piece. The result is paint and canvas as sculpture, a unique kind of perceptual wall art that changes as your perspective shifts.

Each length of painted canvas is bonded to itself and to the background creating a rigid structure within the frame. Then, each length is sealed with an archival varnish that protects it from moisture and UV light.
